A Next-Generation Perspective

Gen Z on ESG

The people who will live longest with the outcomes of today's capital decisions rarely get a seat at the table. This is a small attempt to change that — a corner of Edge given over to a younger voice on environment, society, and the systems we're all inheriting.

Curated by Ella Perera

Why this page exists

Edge works at the intersection of capital, risk, and the energy transition — the machinery behind projects that will shape the next several decades. But the people who will actually live in the world those projects build aren't in the room where those decisions get made.

Ella Perera is one of them. A member of Gen Z with a genuine interest in how environmental, social, and governance questions play out beyond the acronym, she writes here in her own voice — not as a finance professional, but as someone who cares about where all of this is heading. We've given her the space, the byline, and the editorial freedom. The perspective is hers.

We think it belongs here. Edge's work is ultimately about the future; it only seems right to let someone from the generation inheriting it say something about what that future should look like.

"You can't structure a thirty-year deal for a world you won't be around to see. But we will. So maybe it's worth asking what we think."

The future is a stakeholder too.

Edge structures the transactions that shape the energy transition. We think it matters to hear from the people who'll inherit the results.
